CTI Navigator Download Support
This site is for CTI MLS customers to use as directed by Creative Technology's
Tech Support (phone 1-800-533-1031). Doing other than instructed can corrupt
your CTI Navigator program or data and require re-installation (see
disclaimer below). Detailed instructions are provided
on CTI's main help and support website (click the
Help and Tutorials button
at the bottom of this page).
In the table below, buttons in Section 1 link to
common fixes. Section 2 provides links to
restore specific MLS information. Buttons in Section 3
link to specific repairs and tests for Windows functions. Buttons in
Section 4 link to help for CTI Navigator functions.
In Section 1, run Update Manager II if
the Firewall on your computer interferes with updating MLS files. On a new
computer, run Set DCOM & Tunneling to ensure that your Windows can
transmit MLS data securely from your computer to the MLS server. DCOM and
Tunneling can also be set separately by running "Set DCOM Policy" and "Set
Secure Tunneling." Run "ByPass DCOM" if all other attempts to fix Windows
DCOM have failed. For the ByPass DCOM to work, some MLS's also require special
versions of certain MLS files be downloaded.
In Section 2, you can select to
download the appropriate Program, Data, Taxes (where available), or Photo
Unlock for your MLS. Programs with an asterisk (*)
are compatible with all versions of Windows, including 64-bit. (Note: If you are
installing into a 64-bit version of Windows but the program button for your MLS
does not have an asterisk after it,
contact CTI for a special 64-bit compatible installer.) Data updates
are posted approximately once a week. "Listing Data" downloads do NOT include
photos (or taxes where available). To download taxes (where available),
select the tax button appropriate for your MLS. Because of their large size, it
is highly recommended that the initial set of photo (and tax) files be
installed off a recent CTI Navigator CD/DVD from your local MLS.
If you download data (and/or taxes where available) into a computer that
did not previously have MLS data installed in it, you must manually enter in CTI
Navigator's setup the path to where the data (and taxes) is located in your
computer (see
Install CTI Navigator for path setup instructions). After downloading
replacement data from this web site, run the CTI Update Manager (Start >
all Programs > CTI Navigator > Update Manager > Update button). Warning:
the first update after downloading data from the Internet can take an unusually
long time because the update manager will automatically download any missing
photos (this means all photos if you have not previously installed photos).
Compact the data (at the prompt or under Tools > Compact Listing Data) the next
time you log into CTI Navigator.
Program files may need to update when first used. Once installed, the
program will automatically update itself to the current version when you either
log into CTI Navigator or run the CTI Update Manager. You may need to configure
your Internet Security program to allow CTI's Update Manager to access the
Internet (for instructions, click the Help &
Tutorials button below). If your security program interferes with MLS
updates even after being configured properly, run
Update Manager II (using the button in section 1 below).
After clicking the appropriate button to download a file, in Windows
Vista select "Save"
and save the file to the Desktop. To install a file downloaded from
the Internet into Windows Vista: right-click on the file
that was saved to your desktop > in the popup menu, click "Run as
Administrator" > on the User Account Control screen (if enabled),
click Allow. The first time you run CTI Navigator in Windows Vista,
right-click on the CTI Navigator icon on the desktop > select Properties
> click the Compatibility tab > under Administrative Privileges,
check "Run this program as an Administrator" > click OK.
To download a file in all versions of Windows other than Vista, select
Run or select "Save" (as instructed). If prompted that
"Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?"
click Run.
At any unZip screen, click Unzip
(do not click Run WinZip). Do not change the "Unzip to
folder" location (unless you have installed CTI Navigator on a drive different
from the default). All files will automatically unzip to the proper folder
for CTI Navigator on your "C" drive. Then, start CTI Navigator and click on
UPDATE to get the most recent data.
